Ironwood Electronics introduces a new socket product line addressing high performance requirements for Burn-in and Test applications – SBT-BGA-7003. The contactor is a stamped spring pin with 26 gram actuation force per ball and cycle life of 100,000 insertions. The self inductance of the contactor is 0.88 nH, insertion loss of < 1 dB at 20 GHz and capacitance 0.097pF. The current capacity of each contactor is 4 amps at 80C temperature rise. Socket temperature range is -55C to +180C. Socket also features a floating guide for precise ball to pin alignment. The specific configuration of the package to be tested in the SBT-BGA-7003 is BGA, 8x8mm body size, 0.5mm pitch and 14x14 ball array. To use, drop IC into the socket, place floating compression plate, swivel the lid, and apply down force using compression screw. This socket can be used for hand test and quick turn custom burn-in applications with the most stringent requirements. More on Ironwood Electronics.

Power Dynamics, Inc. releases the 20A NEMA IDC receptacle. The Power Dynamics PD-20-2 NEMA receptacle can be used in a variety of power input applications ranging from 15 to 20 Amps. The "T" slot designed on the face of the connector accepts NEMA 15 Amp or 20 Amp plugs. The IDC termination allows for easy assembly and multiple outlet connections. The connector is UL and cUL approved and is constructed with UL-94V-0 flammability nylon. It is designed to accept 12 AWG solid copper wire. The PD-20-2 can be snapped into panels with a thickness range of 1.0mm to 2.0mm.More on Power Dynamics.
Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new high performance QFN socket for 0.5mm 
pitch QFN 64 pin IC’s. The SG-MLF-7028 socket is designed for an 9X9X1.6 mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 10 GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The sockets are designed to dissipate up to several watts without extra heat sinking and can handle up to 100 watts with custom heat sink. The contact resistance is typically 20 milliohms per pin. The socket connects all pins with 10 GHz bandwidth on all connections. The socket is mounted with a patented technology that allows for mounting with no holes in the target PCB, no soldering, and minimal footprint. It can be mounted on any existing PCB with our exclusive placement/epoxy system.The SG-MLF-7028 sockets are constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer contactor. The temperature range is -40 C to +100 C. The pin self inductance is 0.11 nH and mutual inductance of 0.028 nH. Capacitance to ground is 0.028 pF. Current capacity is 5 amps per pin.
